Wedding Parties

Hannah and Galya first met in their Kindergarten classroom in 2002, and have had 23+ years of being best friends ever since! They have experienced almost everything together, including but not limited to: braces, several hair color changes, graduations, new jobs, big moves, and so much more in between. Watching Hannah marry the love of her life is their next big adventure and Gali cannot wait to sit front row! A bit about Galya: she hails from Rockville, MD, and now lives in Stamford, CT as a Speech Therapist (this makes quite a bit of sense as she was physically moved away from Hannah in every single classroom they shared due to their excessive talking). Simona met Hannah when they were brainy babes at Mary Wash, sharing adventures to Richmond, indie music, and bagged wine. Over the last decade, they’ve seen each other through graduations, cross-country moves, broken hearts (the closing of Strange Matter), and now: getting married! Simona loves Hannah’s gift of steady, sensible, Virgo-minded presence. Whether FaceTiming across time zones or catching up over craft cocktails in Hannah & Eric’s beautiful home, Simona & Hannah’s friendship sees them through all seasons of life. Simona is stoked to witness and celebrate Hannah & Eric in their love. Simona is from San Francisco and now lives in Berkeley CA, writing their PhD dissertation & training to become a midwife. Felicidades Hannah & Eric!!!

Rachel and Hannah met when Rachel was 5 and in the same Kindergarten class as her brother, Spencer. Being an only child, Rachel pretty quickly adopted Hannah as her big sister. Rachel constantly feels lucky to have Hannah’s constant support and level headed advice, whether they are across the country or just across town. Since moving to Richmond, Rachel has been lucky enough to be able to turn to both Hannah and Eric in any situation, whether that’s needing a ride home, needing help moving or just needing to watch trashy reality TV. Rachel cannot wait for these two to tie the knot! Rachel is from Rockville, MD and currently lives in Richmond (thanks Hannah!) working as a social worker.

Gracie and Hannah first met on move-in day at the University of Mary Washington in 2015 when they were assigned neighboring "quad" dorm rooms and a shared suite...with five other girls. At first, Gracie was very unsure about Hannah and her bright purple hair, but they, along with Kathleen, Ilana, and Renee, soon became very close friends. Anyone who knows Hannah, knows just how deeply she loves those she cares about. It is truly such a joy and gift to be loved by her. In 2017, Hannah introduced Gracie to her friend Paul, and years later stood by her good friends at their wedding (Gracie and Paul may or may not have promised their first born’s namesake to Hannah as a thank you). Gracie is so excited to stand by her dear friend Hannah when she, too, marries the love of her life! Gracie is from and currently lives in Baker City, OR working as a legal assistant and freelance consultant.

Hannah, Eric, and Kerry met when they were all working on their MURP’s at VCU. After Kerry’s astonishment that she and Hannah were from the same county (shoutout MoCo) the weekly trivia and dinners in Richmond, VA began and have never stopped. Their mutual love of Taylor Swift, urban planning, and rehashing propelled their friendship ever since. Cheers!

Kathleen and Hannah met over 10 years ago at the University of Mary Washington as quad suite mates, along with Ilana, Gracie and Renee. Kathleen didn’t expect to have three roommates her first year of college, which was for the best because she ended up with four considering Hannah spent more time in the other girls’ room than her own. Thus began a decade of friendship: of sharing birthday parties, dinners at Soup and Taco II, adventures in Richmond, and now celebrating weddings. Kathleen is honored to stand beside her friend as she marries Eric and can’t wait to boogie with them on the dance floor in October! Kathleen is from Cedar Mountain, NC, and currently lives in Raleigh, NC where she works as a landscape designer.

Renee and Hannah met their freshman year at UMW when they were randomly assigned as suitemates and their friendship began. Renee was always drawn to Hannah’s outgoing, adventurous self, and had tons of fun taking classes together (where they were literally never allowed to partner up for discussions), exploring campus, and having late night lip singing jam sessions with the girls. One of Renee’s favorite memories with Hannah was walking a mile to 7-11 on Bring Your Own Cup Day, and walking a mile back to their dorm rooms carrying waaaay too much Slurpee. Renee is so happy that Eric and Hannah found their other halves in each other, and is super excited to celebrate this newest chapter in their lives. Renee lives in Chesterfield, Virginia with her husband Tim and their three children.

Ilana and Hannah’s met in college as suitemates, but their story actually begins when they were kids (invisible string theory, anyone?). They both knew about each other through their good mutual friend, Galya, so when they met in college it was easy to fall into a friendship. Ilana loves and admires Hannah’s fierce loyalty to her friends, her authentic sense of self, and of course, her laughter that invites everyone around her to join in. Ilana can’t wait to celebrate Hannah as she marries the love of her life! Ilana is a museum professional in Washington, DC, where she lives with her husband and dog.
